With more than 20 years devoted to water-based and UV wood coatings, Nanochem, under the leadership of businesswoman Bui Thi Chinh, has become a pioneer in the industry: the first company to earn UL’s GREENGUARD Gold certification, and one that has taken Vietnamese water-based wood coatings to international markets.
01Choosing water-based coatings early
While most wood workshops were still using solvent-based NC lacquers, Nanochem chose water-based and UV wood coatings. These coatings use water instead of solvents, have low VOC emissions, and are safe for both finishers and end users. The company combines German technology with nanotechnology, using raw materials imported from Europe and the United States. In 2013, Nanochem successfully applied water-based electrostatic coating technology; in 2018, it became the first company to receive UL’s GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD Gold certifications.
02Green yet efficient
Nanochem’s water-based coatings offer high clarity and a smooth finish, do not raise the moisture content of the wood, resist mould and yellowing, and withstand outdoor weather. According to the company, the system saves up to 25% in costs compared with NC systems. Its in-house laboratory develops products for the harsh climate of northern Vietnam, and its factory in Song Than 1 Industrial Park delivers within 5 working days.
03Taking Vietnamese coatings to the world
Since 2025, Nanochem’s water-based and UV wood coatings have been exported to international markets. Businesswoman Bui Thi Chinh personally meets overseas customers to introduce the products under the message Technology · Quality · Saving. Nanochem coatings can be found on furniture from RH, Williams-Sonoma, Magnussen and Costco.
